Fifteen hours over five days: riding upwind, transitions and self-rescue. Work towards IKO Level 3 and independent riding.

Beginners who want to leave as independent riders, and riders who have had a few lessons and want to close the gap.
What you'll learn
- Everything in the beginner course, with more time on the water
- Riding upwind so you can get back to where you started
- Transitions: changing direction without stopping
- Self-rescue, and working towards IKO Level 3
What's included
- Current Slingshot kites and boards
- Helmet, life jacket and impact vest, plus boots at spots with pebbles
- Your IKO card, recording the level you reach
- An IKO-certified instructor teaching in English, German or Chinese
- Maximum two students per instructor
Where you learn
Courses start in Bo'ao, where flat-water lagoons make learning easier. When Bo'ao has no wind, we take you to whichever spot has it: Wenchang, Haikou, Sanya, Dongfang. See the best time to kitesurf in Hainan.
Next step
Once you're independent, Supervised Riding lets you keep riding our spots with rescue cover and rental gear.
