3-Day Beginner Course
Nine hours over three days, from kite control to riding on the board. Two students per instructor, IKO Level 1–2.

Complete beginners, and friends or couples who want to learn together. Technique matters more than strength, so it suits riders of all ages.
What you'll learn
- Kite control on the beach and in shallow water
- Body dragging: steering the kite in the water and recovering your board
- The water start and your first metres on the board
- Riding, with an IKO card recording the level you reach
What's included
- Current Slingshot kites and boards
- Helmet, life jacket and impact vest, plus boots at spots with pebbles
- Your IKO card, recording the level you reach
- An IKO-certified instructor teaching in English, German or Chinese
- Maximum two students per instructor
Where you learn
Courses start in Bo'ao, where flat-water lagoons make learning easier. When Bo'ao has no wind, we take you to whichever spot has it: Wenchang, Haikou, Sanya, Dongfang. See the best time to kitesurf in Hainan.
